The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is partnering with the Palm Beach Zoo and FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center for an exciting professional development opportunity focused on STEM activities!

Teachers Night Out! Visit the largest aquarium from Miami to Orlando, take a behind the scenes tour of the state-of-the-art zoo animal hospital, participate in live science and animal demonstrations and build, tinker and explore activities in our Science Showcase area!

– Explore the new Astronaut exhibit and meet actual Astronaut, Robert Crippen!
– Delicious Food Trucks
– Cocktail Hour with Stargazing in the Observatory
– Liquid Nitrogen Merlot Ice Cream Demonstrations

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker, Astronaut and Pilot from the first space shuttle flight, #RobertCrippen! Mr. Crippen is a retired American naval officer and aviator, test pilot, aerospace engineer, and former astronaut for the United States Department of Defense and for NASA. He was the Pilot of the first Space Shuttle flight and flew three more missions as Commander. He also received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. Join us for a special presentation from Mr. Crippen and a meet and greet session afterwards.

Schedule of events:

– Teachers check-in at 4pm, visit food trucks, and explore a STEM Expo throughout the Science Center
– Keynote Speaker, Robert Crippen Presentation at 5pm
– Professional Development Workshops from 5-8pm
– Cocktail Hour with Stargazing in the Observatory and other live Science Demos from 8-9pm
